65 years ago, a group of inspired engineers and designers were challenged to create a prototype vehicle with the kind of "go anywhere, do anything" capabilities the world had never seen before. The resulting vehicle with exceptional simplicity and functionality continues in today's Jeep® Wrangler. Complete with a surefooted stance, round headlamps and classic seven-slot grille. More than that, Jeep® Wrangler brings its passionate off-road heritage to benefit your day-to-day on-road driving experience.

Swing Gate
Hold your possessions safely in the cargo space – and access them with ease. Just open the swing gate. Its new and improved design is 63.5 mm taller and 178 mm wider.

Roof Systems
Wrangler two-door models lets you choose from the standard soft top, an optional Sunrider® soft top, or the Freedom Top™ three-piece modular hard top (standard on Renegade or choose the Dual top group which includes both). To add to the customisation, Wrangler has dozens of top and door configurations.
Take customisation to the next level – the top. Wrangler four-door model offers a standard Sunrider® soft top and an optional Freedom Top TM three-piece modular hard top. Or choose the Dual Top Group, which includes both.
And in the tradition of “more is better”, Wrangler four-door models have eighty top and door configurations, plus an additional fourteen combinations with the windshield folded. Choices, choices.

Doors
Full framed doors – with new features to boot – are now available on the Jeep® Wrangler range. As before, each one can be removed for added versatility and open-air driving pleasure. But you’ll notice that the new construction provides much-improved dimensional and structural characteristics, with hot-stamped beams for better impact performance and occupant protection.

Four Doors
Witness a revolution in Wrangler. Four doors. All the rugged quality you love, now with added accessibility for up to five passengers, or plenty of packing space with the seats folded down.

Lighting
Illuminate the way. Wrangler’s halogen headlamps are engineered to offer the very latest in lighting technology, ensuring a stronger beam with an average service life of 3,000 hours.

Storage
Cargo Load Floor
Stack it all up on Wrangler’s cargo load floor. Made of blow-moulded talc-filled polypropylene for extra strength, it can be flipped up to reveal a hidden storage bin.

Rear Hidden Storage Bin
Just lift the load floor panel and there it is: the hidden storage bin, perfect for your first aid kit, jumper cables – you name it.

Seating
Rear Seats
More room for passengers – or for cargo if you need it. A fold-and-tumble two-passenger rear seat comes standard.

Standard on the Wrangler four-door is a 60/40-split three-passenger rear seat that easily folds and squats. What’s more, rear-seat passengers are treated to 1440 mm of hip room and 945 mm of legroom. Comfortable cruising, indeed.

All-New Seat Appearance
A taller look – with vertical details in the insert areas. As a styling touch, the cloth fabrics have a circular geometric pattern that complements the interior design.

Two fabric combinations are available: cloth and premium YES Essentials® fabric, an easy-care material that repels and releases soil in addition to resisting spills, stains, and odours (standard on Rubicon).

Floor Drain Plugs
When you take to the trail, you’re bound to get a little dirty. For interior cleaning and water drainage, flip up the Floor Drain Plugs located just below the foot spaces. Wash, rinse – and repeat the fun.

MP3 Audio Jack
Like to keep your music as MP3 files? For easy hook-up, simply connect your player directly to the auxiliary stereo input jack. Press play and go.

Sound Systems
For the audiophile in all of us. Take your pick between the standard and premium* sound systems. Both have improved speaker design, mountings, and placement. Get ready for better frequency response and more accurate sound. The standard sound system provides six speakers. When you go premium, you get a full-on sound enhancement. A powerful 368-watt system features six Infinity® speakers and an 8-inch subwoofer.

*Premium sound system available at extra cost.

Engines
3.8-Litre V6 Engine
Quieter. Lighter. Better. Get the power you need, contained in Wrangler’s 3.8-litre overhead valve 60-degree V6 engine. Its cast-iron construction provides robust performance and durability – with 146 kW at 5,000 rpm and 315 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm.

2.8-Litre CRD Turbo Diesel I4
For the first time a diesel engine is available in Wrangler. The 2.8 Direct-Injection Common Rail Turbo Diesel produces 130 kW at 3,800 rpm and 400Nm of torque at 2,000 - 2,600 rpm with automatic transmission and 410 Nm of torque with manual transmission.

Alternator
A 160-amp alternator is standard with the 3.8-litre V6 engine; 180-amp alternator is standard with the 2.8-Litre CRD turbo diesel. This also means lots of power for your off-road accessories (lighting, winches and more).

4X4 Systems
Command-Trac® 4x4 System
The NV241 Gen II Command-Trac® replaces the NV231 unit as standard equipment on four-wheel-drive models (except Rubicon). It continues as a part-time system where four-wheel drive is not recommended for use on dry pavement.

Rock-Trac® 4x4 System
More control. More torque at the wheels. The NV241OR Rock-Trac® two-speed transfer case has been upgraded. New flanged front and rear output shafts mate with constant velocity joints, engineered specifically for the Wrangler Rubicon to meet the demanding durability requirements of an intense off-road vehicle.

Tru-Lok® - Locking Differentials
Standard on the Rubicon is the Tru-Lok® system. The electronic-locking front and rear differentials locks power and distributes it evenly so both wheels turn at the same speed for the ultimate in traction. This means more power to the tyres that are in contact with surfaces

The instrument panel-mounted rocker switch can lock either the rear or both axles.

Suspension
For Wrangler drivers and riders, suspension is a key element, especially when you consider off-road action. So we’ve built it with five-link front and rear suspension. Together they decrease steering wheel movement over rugged terrain and make the vehicle more stable overall.

Pull It Off
Wrangler models give you the confidence to push the envelope. Depending on model and when equipped with the available Trailer Tow Package, they also empower you to pull up to 2,300 kg (on Unlimited), 1,600 kg (on two-door).*

*When properly equipped.

ABS
Standard on all 4x4 Wrangler models, ABS features calibrations for on – and off-road performance.

  • On-road ABS helps the vehicle maintain directional control while braking.
  • Off-road ABS allows more sustained wheel lockup for improved stopping performance on dirt, grass, gravel, and mud (the fun stuff).

Air Bags
Advanced Multistage Air Bags
Attention to safety is always a priority. Wrangler uses an advanced air bag system with advanced multistage driver and front-passenger air bags. The occupant restraint controller (ORC) and impact sensors at the front of the car determine output appropriate to the level of crash severity.

Seat-Mounted Side Air Bags
Put safety on your side. The optional seat-mounted side air bags provide enhanced head and chest protection for the driver and front passenger.

ESP & Traction Control
Standard on the Wrangler and Wrangler four-door, the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) includes hydraulic brake assist, traction control, and Electronic Roll Mitigation (ERM). This system helps you stay on course by applying selective braking and engine control, within the limits of available traction.
