Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS)
When you need steering control under extreme braking or slippery conditions, Compass’s state-of-the-art electronics system instantly puts its four-wheel-disc anti-lock brake system (ABS) into action to bring you to a controlled stop.

Five-Door Versatility
Jeep® Compass is designed for ultimate utility. That includes getting yourself and your stuff in and out of the vehicle. Its five-door design-four passenger doors plus a rear litigate-provides easy access to the vehicle’s 334 litres of generous interior cargo space.

Lighting
The halogen headlamps featured on Compass provide maximum illumination. The lamps are contained within polycarbonate plastic lenses that offer high-impact resistant and the crystallin appearance of glass. Plus they share a familiar Jeep® heritage styling cue: They’re round.

Get this – the optional 458-watt Boston Acoustics® premium sound system gives you an eight-channel 368-watt amplifier with digital signal processing (DSP), two 2.5-inch tweeters in the instrument panel, four 6x9-inch full-range speakers in the doors, two 3.5-inch mid-high range speakers in the swing down liftgate,a subwoofer mounted in the right rear trip panel, and a two-channel amplifier rated at 90 watts mounted to the subwoofer.

Storage
Storing items in Jeep® Compass is as easy as one, two, three. 1) Place gloves and other items in the open storage bin above the glove box. 2) Store the owner’s manual and other important documents in the ample glove box. 3) Insert items into the cubby beneath the radio.

Jeep® Compass delivers impressive power. Here’s the proof: Jeep® Compass Sport has two available engines – a 2.0-litre Common Rail Diesel engine that creates 103kW at 4,000 rpm and 310Nm of torque and a 2.4-litre engine producing 125kW at 6,000 rpm and 220Nm of torque at 4500 rpm. Autostick®
The available Autostick® gives drivers the choice of fully automatic shifting or driver-interactive manual control. Tap the gearshift left or right for complete control of six simulated stepped-gear ratios. Or just leave it in drive and let the advanced Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT2) handle the rest.

4WD System
Compass’s state-of-the-art electronic four-wheel-drive system anticipates the need for added traction and responds to wheel-slippage by transferring power to the rear wheels. This system also improves vehicle stability in cornering situations by modulating power to the rear wheels.

Handling
Enjoy great handling with a four-wheel independent MacPherson strut front suspension and a multilink rear suspension tuned for superior ride, handling, and noise reduction. Plus, traction control is standard.

Transmission
When it comes to transmission of power, Compass gives you choices. Choose between a five-speed manual or the available CVT with AutoStick®. The CVT uses a steel-pish belt and pulleys instead of gears for smooth, efficient driving performance. .

Air Bags & Restraints
Both Compass models feature standard advanced multistage driver and front-passenger air bags* and front and rear side-curtain air bags. The integrated restraint system includes three-point lap and shoulder belts for all seating positions, and pretensioning and load-limiting retractors for the front seat belts.

Crush Zones
Engineered crush zones divert and dissipate impact energy away from the passenger compartment and help minimise injuries in the event of an accident, while side-guard door beams provide additional impact protection.

ESP & Traction Control
With Compass, you’re in control. The vehicle’s standard Electronic Stability Program (ESP)* helps the driver maintain vehicle directional stability by applying selective braking and engine control. Compass also features traction control, which helps maintain vehicle mobility by applying the brakes, and in some cases closing the throttle, to minimise wheel spin during acceleration.

Vehicle Structure
Compass’s body components combine to for a structural safety cage and provide outstanding occupant protection in the event of an impact. For added rear occupant side-impact protection, an ultra high-strength roll-formed steel cross-car beam is bolted to the body structure under the rear seat. All work to help guard vehicle occupants.

Tyre-Pressure Monitor
Maintaining proper tyre pressure is paramount for optimal safety, security, performance, and fuel economy. The available tyre-pressure monitoring display on Compass automatically checks each tyre for proper inflation. It then alerts the driver if low or excessive tyre pressure is detected.
