Simply stated,
the Chrysler 300C signals a new design direction that will make
everything else on the road seem ordinary.
The Chrysler 300C model marks the return of the HEMI® engine to the Chrysler brand after nearly 50 years. With an entirely new shape based on the company’s rear-wheel drive architecture, the Chrysler 300C features classic proportions - a long bonnet, short deck and dramatic profile complete with 18-inch wheels give the premium sports sedan a stunning presence.

Exterior
From the front, the Chrysler 300C will not be mistaken for any
other automobile on the road. The 300C wears the most elegant
execution of the Chrysler 'face' yet.
Large tyres on standard 18-inch wheels suggest ample reserves
of power. The large five-spoke, split-spoke rims leave plenty
of room for serious brake hardware.
The Chrysler 300C headlamp shape supports the new face
of Chrysler. The lamp itself employs a projector low-beam
lamp
for world
class
lighting performance.
Special attention was given to the design of the exterior mirrors
and door handles. The mirrors were shaped in the wind tunnel
to maximise aerodynamic efficiencies.
Interior
A four-gauge instrument cluster with light silver faces and
chrome trim rings conveys a precision appearance setting
the new standard for all Chrysler cars.
The use of leather along with distinctive materials and textures
provide a handcrafted feel.
Faux tortoise shell is used on the steering wheel rim, shifter
knob and inside door pulls, complemented by chrome door handles
and other accents inspired by the 1998 Chrysler Chronos show
car.
The Chrysler 300C features a full sized interior. A two-tone
colour treatment featuring light coloured lower surfaces
conveys spaciousness and gives the Chrysler 300C an opulent
feel inside.
The rear seats have a centre folding armrest with integrated
cup holder, and are configured with a 60/40 split for added
versatility.
Safety
In addition to driver and front passenger airbags, 300C offers;
- full side curtain airbags,
- Electronic Stability Programme (ESP)
- Emergency Brake Assist
- All-speed Traction Control System and
- Four-wheel disc Anti-lock Brake System (ABS).
Performance
For the first time in fifteen years you can feel
the power and performance of rear-wheel drive in a Chrysler
vehicle.
Leading-edge technology has corralled the raw power and turned
it into a refined ride. The available four-wheel antilock
brakes help prevent wheel lockup on slippery surfaces, so
you can steer while braking to help avoid a collision.
Available
all-speed traction control senses drive-wheel slip and individually
brakes the slipping wheel and/or reduces
excess engine power until control is regained. Available
advanced Electronic Stability Program (ESP) is designed
to assist drivers in maintaining control of their vehicles
during extreme steering manoeuvres. ESP senses when a vehicle
is starting to spin (oversteer) or plow (understeer), and
attempts to correct the vehicle's course by automatically
controlling the throttle and applying the brakes to individual
wheels
No system, no matter how sophisticated, can repeal the laws
of physics or overcome careless driving actions. Performance
is limited by available traction, which snow, ice and other
conditions can affect. When the ESP warning lamp in the speedometer
flashes, the driver needs to use less throttle and adapt
speed and driving behaviour to prevailing road conditions.
Not every car with beautiful styling can also offer satisfying power and handling, but Chrysler 300C and 300C Touring can. The available 5.7L HEMI® Multi-Displacement V8 engine delivers 250kW at 5000rpm and 525 Nm at 4000 rpm – more power and torque than any Chrysler passenger car since the legendary 426 Hemi® of the 1960s.
The five-speed automatic transmission with AutoStick® offers smooth shifts for optimum fuel economy for both the 5.7L HEMI and a second fine engine choice, a smooth 3.5L V6. The 3.5L engine provides 183 kW at 6400 rpm and 340 Nm at 3800 rpm.
New to the engine lineup is the 3.0L CRD V6 diesel with standard five-speed automatic transmission with AutoStick®. The 3.0L CRD V6 engine provides an impressive 160 kW at 3800 rpm and 510 @ 1600-2800 rpm.
The Chrysler 300C's suspension has been designed to balance
maximum control with a comfortable ride. An all-new short-
and long-arm (SLA) front suspension and five-link independent
rear suspension system maintain independent control of each
wheel during suspension movement for excellent handling.
An advanced suspension mounting system also dramatically
reduces road noise. This means you get a smooth ride that
is also quiet.
